Back to work tomorrow

 

Back to work tomorrow! I'm kind of happy but sad at the same time.
As much as I've been so bored and going stir crazy, this time off has been great! but..we're now a week behind in things, so fingers crossed work's not too crazy...

And! there's a subway running into Manhattan! but because the majority of us live in Brooklyn, we're  carpooling! yay!

No Work

Our office has been closed the whole week, along with many others.  There's still no power to lower manhattan.

Even though this week off may seem like a 'mini holiday', it really isn't.

I walk outside and only a handful of stores are open, the subway's are down in lower manhattan, there's a really weird vibe in the air.  Everyone's going stir crazy, myself included!

By all means, the storm could have been much worse.  But the damage has been pretty bad, especially involving the subways.  So many people in NYC, myself included, rely heavily on the trains to get around.

I'm going to walk over the bridge into manhattan today to check out the damage and to see how bad it is on the other side.  I'll be bringing my camera so I'll be posting up photos.

So I've had no internet for the past 4 days (besides my phone), so being part of the tech savvy generation, 4 days is a long time, even longer when you're locked up indoors waiting out a hurricane with limited movies on your laptop.

So fuck yes to the internet right about now!

Happy Halloween

 

Because of the current post hurricane situation, I don't think anyone will be celebrating Halloween today.

In saying that,  thank goodness New Yorkers know how to party because I already pre celebrated it on Friday and Saturday!!!!

These nights consisted of a Brooklyn warehouse party, multiple house parties and ended the night at a Bushwick bar dance party.

Moving yet again..

This past month has been the most stressful/anxious/drama filled month.  It's been horrible.
Having to move out of yet another apartment that I thought was permanent, being on craigslist.com every day trying to find a home, the fear of being homeless, the feeling of being so alone and not even having the support of my best friends and family in the country...Oh and prepping for a hurricane by myself, not knowing what to expect.

It's been fucking tough.

But.

I can now say that I've successfully survived my very first hurricane and have moved into my 4th apartment in my 5 months of being here.

I feel like I can conquer anything now!
