I GOT THE JOB!!!

Finally!

After a good 6 months of job hunting, no responses, waiting and being shut down one company after another for my 'lack of experience', I've FINALLY landed an amazing first job as a Design Assistant for an iconic Australian accessories label.  Not too sure if I should mention the label...I don't think I'll breach the contract but just to be safe..

As soon as I found out I went to buy myself the Acne smith biker jacket which I have been dreaming about the past week since trying it on.  Thought this would be a great congratulatory present for myself (also part excuse to splurge)

It's in navy blue super soft suede and it is HOT HOT HOT.

2nd Interview

Had a second round interview today for...a secret company..(don't want to build too much hype).
I got to wear my new Zimmerman silk blazer! The dress code was more suited to smart casual, what I'd wear to their offices on a daily basis.  Stylish but practical.

Viva Tigerlily

Best smelling candle ever!!!!!
It's called Viva Tigerlily, and the scent is coconut infused with vanilla.  Perfect for these cold winter days (ok, mild winter days compared to what I experienced over in NY).  Although it does make me want to run away to somewhere warm and tropical!

Friday Night

The other night it was my good friend Kate's 21st birthday and let me just say, it was one hell of a party. Candles and flowers in glass jars scattered around the room , lanterns and fairy lights draped from the ceiling, a cupcake stack birthday cake, a CANDY BAR!!!! and dancing and catching up with great friends made for a very fun night!
Kate organized the whole set up of her party from colour scheme, fairy lights, gathering a whole heap of glass jars for candles and flowers (fresh flowers!), to baking macaroons and her cupcake birthday stack! So proud of her! She did a fantastic job!

Oh and did I mention I made her birthday dress???!!!!  Just a classic tiffany blue dress with a tulip skirt, low back, and hand sewn and individually cut lace flowers (Jason Wu Fall 2011 inspired)

Givenchy Fall Campaign

Fur

I got this amazing fur collar from work the other day.  It makes all my jackets just that much better especially paired with my leather one.  Seeing as I'm working 41 hrs per week and pretty much living at the store I thought I deserved it.  It's dark grey with lighter grey highlights through it, the perfect colour.  

Madame Gres

What I would give right now to be in Paris to visit the Madame Gres exhibition at the Musee Bourdelle!
If I don't end up getting a proper full time job over here, I'm definitely moving to London.

a) because it's pretty much the only place I can get my hands onto a working visa!!! (out of the 3 fashion capitals - New York, London, Paris)

b) Paris will be a train ride away, and so will the rest of Europe!

c)Australia is just way too isolated for me!

Weekday Inspiration

I've had a crazy past 2 weeks.  I've been working pretty much 24/7 (just think about the money! think about the money!) , prepping my folio..don't want to say too much! but fingers crossed! wish me luck, and here's some inspiration to start off the week. xx
